Be Cautious When Buying

photo credit: teamstickergiant Counterfeit clubs continue to proliferate the marketplace. Granted, everyone is looking for a bargain price when making the decision to buy a new set of golf clubs, however, great caution must be used before you put your hard earned cash on the counter.
There is no question that club prices have risen to outrageous levels over the past several years. These high prices exacerbate the counterfeiting problem since they are the causation for bargain hunting by most consumers.
Consumers are becoming more informed and inquisitive about prices that are just “too good to be true.” Counterfeiters are beginning to bring the price of their clubs more in line with what one might call a “decent sale price.” In so doing, counterfeiters are also paying more attention to quality. No matter how they look, counterfeit clubs just do not perform like an original.
Skimming

photo credit: mikebaird Many think that the practice swing is simply a warm-up to the forthcoming shot but that idea is a misconception of the purpose of taking a practice swing. Swinging the club prior to the golf shot is not to limber-up, it is to mimic the swing that you you are about to make for the actual shot.
During the practice swing the player should swing the club so that it skims the top of the ground (through the grass). This is done to determine where the ground is in relation to your clubhead (sole). You will find that, even if your address position is impeccable, the clubhead will skim the ground differently on every shot. The reason is because the terrain is never the same, of course, except on the flat surface of the tee-box.
Know Your Game

photo credit: Nanagyei What does it mean to “know your game?” It simply means that you should know your limitations. Most golfers will not admit that they do have limitations both in distance and accuracy. Is golf, therefore, a machismo game? Maybe.
If you consistently hit your 5-iron 160 yards, why would you use that club on a 180-yard golf shot? The answer lies with the ego and most of us allow that to get in the way of shooting good scores.
Knowing your game means that you are aware of your shortcomings and make allowances for them. Don't use wishful thinking and presume you are going to hit an exceptionally good 150-yard shot landing 10 feet from the cup. Instead, make allowances to put yourself in a good position for your approach, in case your shot misses the green.

photo credit: cliff1066â„¢ Devon James, one of the many porn stars who allegedly had a relationship with Tiger Woods, claims that she has a recording of her and Woods being intimate for at least 37 minutes of the 62 minute tape. James scheduled a meeting with a magazine producer with plans to sell the tape. James – real name Melinda Janette – also asked a Florida judge to rule Tiger was the father of her nine-year- old son. The motion was denied.
James claims the she was 19 and working on a Christian charity project in Hawaii when she met Woods. She eventually revealed that the sex tape was filmed in 2008.
This is just one more in a long line of revelations about the golf star's alleged philandering while being married to Elin Nordegren who divorced Woods earlier in 2010.
