Bubba Watson on Longer Drives

photo credit: Hawaiiwave19   Every golfer has a desire for more distance.  PGA Professional Bubba Watson, one of the longest drivers on Tour has some ideas:  1)  Use a shorter shaft.  Longer shafts actually decrease distance.  2)  Learn to hit a draw; it will allow more roll and bore better into the wind.  3)  Accept the days when you are just not on the mark, off days are more common than not.  4)  Use emotion when hitting a tee shot, get a little mad and go for it.  5)  Practice hitting more balls especially if your a senior.  6)  Flare your front foot, it allows you to clear your left side for more power.  7)  Play more than once per week.  8)  Don’t restrict your backswing by not fully turning your hips.

Reasons Pros Have it Made

photo credit: nsaplayer   Reason’s:  (1.)  Buffered targets:  a large number of fans surrounding the greens and fairways, act as a backstop for errant shots.  (2.)  With fans everywhere there are never any lost balls.  (3.)  Pros never pay for clubs, they get paid to use them;  all the latest models.  (4.)  There are manicured sand traps with only the finest sand with flat surfaces and no pebbles.  (5.)  Caddies spend their entire career with one professional in a joint effort to win golf tournaments. 

PGA Tour players are given a complimentary car for each event.  They are treated like royalty whenever they appear for play.  They make millions of dollars in endorsements and could possibly enjoy a career that might last 40 years.  Yes, Pros do have it made !

Seeing is Believing

McDermott   One of the best places to hang out at a PGA Tour event is at the practice range.  During your very first visit I can assure you that you will walk away with your jaw dropping.  These guys literally hit their drives out of sight.  Their iron shots are even more amazing.

Unless you follow one group all day you really never get to see what any one tour player is capable of.  If you want more bang for your buck the practice range is the place to be.  There, you can watch their every swing move.  Being on the practice range also gives you the opportunity to learn, which is the primary reason why serious golfers visit PGA Tour events.
