Tiger Woods, a Navy Seal?

photo credit: familymwr Hank Haney, in his new book titled THE BIG MISS, revealed that Tiger Woods “almost gave it all up to become a Navy Seal.” Haney said “Tiger was seriously considering becoming a Navy Seal. I didn’t know how he’d go about it, but when we talked about it, it was clear he had a plan.” Haney writes in an excerpt “I thought, Wow, here is Tiger basically ready to leave it all behind for a military life.”

Haney reported that Woods actually started training with elite soldiers which was like a “dry run,” for him. Haney said that Woods spent four days of special operations training in 2004 at Fort Bragg, N.C. ”He did two tandem parachute jumps, engaged in hand-to-hand combat exercises, went on four-mile runs wearing combat boots, and did drills in a wind tunnel,” Haney said. ”Tiger loved it” writes Haney.

The big debate is whether this is all true or is Haney simply trying to sell more books? Would Tiger Woods have quit at the top of his game? Considering the way his career is going it might not have been a bad idea. What are your thoughts?

Tiger Fires Caddie Steve Williams

photo credit: cliff1066™ Today, Tiger Woods announced on his web-site that he is “no longer working with Steve Williams.” In every PGA Tournament for the past 12 years, Williams has been on the bag for Woods The statement reads: I want to express my deepest gratitude to Stevie for all his help, but I think it’s time for a change. Stevie is an outstanding caddie and a friend and has been instrumental in many of my accomplishments. I wish him great success in the future.”

Thus far n 2011, Williams has been carrying for Adam Scott. Woods claimed he injured his leg in the Masters which led him to drop out of The Players Championship. Over the past year there has been tension between Williams and Woods stemming from Woods’ indiscretions with other women. Williams was allegedly angry when he discovered Woods was having affairs with various other women while still married. Williams said he was “shocked and dismayed” at the news.”

When the Woods scandal broke I made a claim that Tiger Woods’ career was over, I still stand by that claim !

More Allegations Against Woods

photo credit: cliff1066â„¢ Devon James, one of the many porn stars who allegedly had a relationship with Tiger Woods, claims that she has a recording of her and Woods being intimate for at least 37 minutes of the 62 minute tape. James scheduled a meeting with a magazine producer with plans to sell the tape. James – real name Melinda Janette – also asked a Florida judge to rule Tiger was the father of her nine-year- old son. The motion was denied.

James claims the she was 19 and working on a Christian charity project in Hawaii when she met Woods. She eventually revealed that the sex tape was filmed in 2008.

This is just one more in a long line of revelations about the golf star's alleged philandering while being married to Elin Nordegren who divorced Woods earlier in 2010.

Woods Hits Rock-Bottom

photo credit: cliff1066â„¢ Tiger Woods hit rock bottom at the Firestone Country Club during the Bridgestone Invitational Tournament in Akron, Ohio. Woods had a final round of 77 finishing 18-over par on a course he dominated in the past.

Woods 18-over-par sets a new mark for his highest 72-hole score in relation to par. Woods had twice previously finished with a score of 10-over-par through 54 holes. His score of 298 for the event was the highest of his PGA Tour career. “It's been a long year,” Woods said, as he choked up in front of reporters. In reference to the Ryder Cup Team Woods also said, “I wouldn't help the team if I'm playing like this. I think I can turn it around.”

photo credit: katielips As preparations began at the 2010 Open Championship at St. Andrews Golf Course in Scotland, Tiger Woods had his first European news conference following his self-induced sex scandal. Woods, who is going for his third Open Championship, was evasive to some tough questions by an aggressive British press.

The most tense moment for Woods was when a reporter said “Tom Watson said you need to clean up your act on the course. He's gone on record. Many of us have heard you use the F word, we've seen you spit on the course and we've seen you throw tantrums and chuck your clubs around. Are you willing to cut out those tantrums and respect the home of golf?” Woods replied “I'm trying to become a better player and a better person.” Time will tell. . .

Woods Interviewed in Galea Probe

photo credit: Biology Big Brother The associated press reported that Tiger Woods has been interviewed by federal authorities investigating Dr. Galea, a Canadian doctor accused of distributing human growth hormone. Woods has acknowledged that he's been treated, in the past, by the Toronto-based doctor but insisted that he did not receive performance-enhancing drugs. Woods' agent said “Tiger willingly spoke to the authorities and cooperated fully.”

In April, Alex Rodriguez met with three officials from Major League Baseball denying Galea gave them performance enhancing drugs. Galea, who is not authorized to work in the United States, is accused of repeatedly entering the country to treat professional athletes from MLB, the NFL and the PGA.

As of yet, no athletes have been named in the governments complaint.

A Price-tag of $750 Million

photo credit: Paul Lowry Tiger Woods' wife, Elin Nordegren, made it official, she has filed for divorce and is demanding $750 million from Woods. In the past, she decided to accept joint custody of their two children, however, she is now demanding to be the sole legal guardian, reports say.

Nordegren has hired a London law firm to represent her and if successful, it would make the split the most expensive celebrity divorce, even surpassing the $600 million settlement expected to be handed out to the wife of Mel Gibson (the case is still being finalized).

The sex scandal may cost Woods better than half of his total fortune. As of 2008, Woods' total estimated net worth was 1.2 billion. Several major sponsors have alos dropped Woods and his total loss could be staggering.

photo credit: Steve Snodgrass The 2010 Masters was an eventful major. It dawned a new era for the new champion, Phil Mickelson and it may have spelled the start of the cascade downward for Tiger Woods.

Tiger promised the world that he was going to “change his ways.” He said that he was going to “control his temper during play” by staying on an even emotional level during his rounds. There was Tiger, at one of the world's most beautiful golf courses, Augusta National, walking his round with bodyguards dressed in golf attire. Live microphones were everywhere on the course. After one of his bad shots, Woods swore by using the name “Jesus Christ.”

Has Woods reformed as he promised? You be the judge.

At a news conference, that included over two hundred reporters, Woods answered 43 questions about his salacious behavior, and alleged illicit affairs with at least 14 women, several of which were porn stars.

There was one question that deserved a follow-up: “Tiger, did you ever take performance enhancing drugs from your Canadian doctor that had been arrested for administering these drugs to athletes?” Woods' answer was no, but the follow-up question should have been, “have YOU ever taken performance enhancing drugs during your professional career?”

Whether you've noticed it or not, Tiger doesn't have those “Hulk Hogan” muscles that he had prior to going into self-imposed exile !

Tiger’s Masters Debut

photo credit: nsaplayer Tiger Woods has announced that his grand re-appearance to the game of golf will be at the 2010 Master Tournament. Just weeks before, at his well staged press release extravaganza he implied he didn't know when he would play again, all the while knowing he would play the Masters. Once again, he deceived the public, the media, his fans, once again he has shown his ability as a control freak.

He chose the Masters because of it's well regulated atmosphere. Fans are not allowed to run anywhere on the course, all concessions are sold for half prices and there is never a mention of winners fees. There could be some real surprises during this year's tournament.
