Creative Commons License photo credit: SouthAsiaGolf     Les Bordes is the most difficult course in Europe.   The par is 72, the course record is one under 71 (by Jean Van de Velde).   It is  so hard, if you break 80 off the championship tees, you are permanently recognized  - your name, golf club and national flag will be included on the club's honor role.

The course creators were, Baron Marcel Bich (founder of BIC pens) and his friend Yoshiaki Sakurai.   It was created as a place to invite friends for their own personal pleasure.

If you play this course, take one hole at a time.   It is a pyramid that increases in difficulty as the course is played.   Achieve a goal of scoring 80 and you have really accomplished a monumental achievement.
