Turn for Power

photo credit: nsaplayer Golfers hear & read about all sorts of ways to achieve more power through books, magazines, TV, friends and instructors but the bottom line in achieving more yardage is with a good shoulder turn.
A good shoulder turn helps bring the club back farther which means it has a longer way to travel on its way to the ball, thus more clubhead speed. Clubhead speed is the only factor that determines distance. Making the proper turn on the backswing means a full coil of the hips and shoulders. It requires that you bring the club back to parallel (0r close to it) at the top. It also means that you start the downswing with your hips moving towards the target and pulling with your lead arm. Practice this move to gain maximum distance.
