LPGA vs. PGA

photo credit: Ted Van Pelt After watching several LPGA Tour events lately, I’ve concluded that they are more interesting and fun to watch than PGA Tournaments. Great shot making, real human reaction, colorful outfits and attractive women are what you get.
When I tune in to a PGA event I’m usually asleep within a half hour. Granted, there are some great shots but where is all the emotion? I’m tired of watching zombie-like, stone-faced players. If you ask me, there aren’t any players on the PGA Tour that are fun to watch anymore, all the fun-lovers are gone. Players like Zoeller, Trevino, Palmer, Chi Chi, Ballesteros, The Walrus, Daly (to name a few) made you want to watch them!
I’ll take watching Michelle Wie any day. . . somebody hand me the clicker?

There are two things synonymous with every sport, competitiveness and fun. The fun is shared by both the players AND the spectators in every sport. In my view, the mojority of PGA Tour players are so mundane that it is no longer fun to watch them. If you grew up with golf in the 60s and 70s as I did, I’m sure you would understand the difference between then and now.
While on the first tee of a US.Open playoff between Lee Trevino and Jack Nicklaus, Trevino reached in his golf bag, grapped a rubber snake and threw it at the feet of Jack Nicklaus. Everyone near the snake, including Jack, ran for cover (so to speak) and it was captured by live television. I can give one example after another of why golf was “FUN” back then. Thank you very much for your observation it was well taken and I’m glad you are taking advantage of our web-site.
