Your membership benefits you (discoutned greens fees), your state association (helps promote the sport) and the course you play (generates revenue).   In order to join your state’s association you have to belong to a golf club.  It can be as easy as signing up at your local municiple golf course.  This is one of the best ways to cut the cost of playing great courses which would ordinarily be cost prohibitive.
