Creative Commons License photo credit: mandj98     Padraig Harrington is one of the best putters on the PGA Tour.   In 2008 he ranked second in putts per round and fifth in putting average.    He also  won  The Open and the PGA Championship.  

Harrington, who is  right handed, putts with his left hand below his right.   This type of grip has become  popular for several important reasons:   The shoulders are on a level plane and parallel with the ground.   The left wrist is stabilized and does not break.   His address position is extremely solid.

Padraig also has an unusually wide stance, which he derived from playing in the windy conditions of the UK.   The benefit is that it keeps his legs very  quiet during his putting stroke.   Try his method, it may improve your game.
