<small><a title="Attribution License" href="http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/2.0/" target="_blank"><img src="http://golfinstructionblog.com/wp-content/plugins/photo-dropper/images/cc.png" border="0" alt="Creative Commons License" width="16" height="16" align="absMiddle" /></a> <a href="http://www.photodropper.com/photos/" target="_blank">photo</a> credit: <a title="danperry.com" href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/71018547@N00/3557645414/" target="_blank">danperry.com</a></small>     It&#39;s easy to give up on a shot that has landed in deep, thick rough, but don&#39;t !   There are just a couple of important things to remember:   Take one extra club no matter how far the shot, and play the ball an inch or two back in your stance.   Swing down at the ball at a steeper angle in order to catch the ball first, which can be difficult to do.</p>
<p><em>Two schools of thought</em>: (1)   Open the clubface slightly and aim a bit left of target (the open clubface will cut through the grass easier).   (2)   Aim in  a normal fashion and close the clubface slightly since making contact with the tall grass prior to  impact,  will tend to open the clubface slightly.</p>
