To correct a temporary putting slump simply relax your putting stroke. When tension sets in, the tendency is to grip the club tighter which prevents a smooth stroke. Every great putter will tell you that they grip the club with an extremely light touch without the least bit of tension in their arms.

Every club in your bag should be swung with minimal grip pressure, including your putter. Many amateurs try to control the direction of the ball and this is when grabbing the club tighter occurs. Trust your ability to swing the club properly and the rest will fall into place. Thought Key: light grip pressure.
